I was so excited when my high school friend reached out to me and wanted me to take photos of her senior daughter, Marley! Even though they live four hours away I still wanted to get to know Marley a little to make sure that her senior session represented who she is right now. We met over Zoom for her planning session which worked out well because I could see her walls and noticed that she liked Dungeons and Dragons. She said that she goes down to the local game store with friends and they play D&D pretty regularly, so of course we had to do some photos at the game store.
We then went to Marley's house to get some photos with her favorite cats. If you know anything about cats you know that they are not always cooperative. One of them was brave for about a half second and we were able to get an adorable photo of them both.
Their yard had some beautiful shrubbery and plants so we took advantage of the late afternoon light. I love that we were able to incorporate her childhood playset.
Marley is in the orchestra and plays the violin. We found a walking path at the park and created some beautiful images for her to remember her time spent in the orchestra (even if she does hate the dress:). Cool fact: This violin is signed by the one and only Charlie Daniels!
Another cool fact, these leather pants that Marley is wearing were her mom's from when she was in high school!! I love that! Near the park was an industrial area that I thought would go well with Marley's leather pants and jacket. I'm so glad we switched locations even though we had not planned to because these are probably my favorite images from her session!
We were able to get lots of different looks that show Marley's personality. And how much she loves her mama:) They are getting a beautiful album and a metal wall hanging that will be treasured for many years. And maybe one day Marley's daughter will wear those leather pants for her senior session;)
